Already in April 2019, Nestlé Waters, PepsiCo and Suntory Beverage & Food Europe joined a consortium founded by Carbios and L’Oréal to support the world’s first enzymatic technology for the recycling of plastics - a huge success for the Petcore Europe PET Monomer Recycling SIG member.
Carbios, however, did not rest on their laurels. In June the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued a Notice of Allowance for an additional U.S. patent for Carbios’ proprietary process of recycling PET plastic waste. Additionally, the company announced a successful capital increase for a category of beneficiaries, achieved via an accelerated bookbuilding process. With this two significant achievements, Carbios made big steps towards a circular economy for PET through its enzymatic recycling technology.
